RIVER PEAK KIWAMI

This River Peak Kiwami rod is the result of a long process of trial and error to make it as light as possible and trying as hard as possible to make the action similar to that of a bamboo rod. The rod is made in Japan from the design to the manufacturing process, combining traditional and state-of-the-art techniques to create one of the lightest rods of its size in the world. The rod body is wrapped with carbon thread to create a bellows shape, which minimises rod body vibration and allows anglers to cast level lines and have maximum accuracy with the fly. We have repeatedly tested fishing for Japanese trout, Yamame and Iwana to confirm the casting ability and resistance in baiting the fish. In addition, we were able to realise that the lightness and lack of vibration of the rod reduces fatigue after long hours of fishing for a whole day. In the 4.5 m test, we repeatedly tested the durability against 60 cm class rainbow trout to confirm the rod's robustness. In terms of casting, we inherited the tone, flexibility and stability of the Goku Tenkara, making it one of the lightest rods in Japan. Thin and ultra-light to reduce air resistance, allowing anglers to enjoy stress-free Tenkara fishing with a light rod action.
