With the SD fly reel, Loomis & Franklin has created a really good product. Its three sizes: #3/5, #5/7, #7/9, make it suitable for all classic fly fishing techniques with a mouse tail. You can choose the model best suited to your needs for use in dry fly fishing or lake fly fishing. Thanks to the carbon discs, the clutch has a very smooth and precise release of the rat tail, allowing you to handle even large fish with maximum efficiency. You can easily adjust the clutch tension thanks to the reference numbers on the adjustment knob. In addition, being sealed, the SD fly reel's clutch is protected from sand and dirt to ensure you always get the best performance over the long term. The large arbor spool gives you a high retrieving capacity and also minimises the annoying memory effect usually created on the rat tail. The 'V'-shaped spool allows a larger backing capacity. L&F's SD fly reel is made of anodised 6061-T6 aluminium and is machined from a single block by CNC milling machines. The frame structure is rigid and very robust, while the anodisation protects it very well against corrosion. Well thought-out materials and design make this reel extremely light and pleasant to use.
